She tried to chip Casey Murphy 4 times, shooting 7 times. She hit the bar twice. She nutmegged countless Courage players. Ashley Sanchez played like a woman possessed, leading the Spirit to a 2-0 win against the NC Courage Saturday night at Audi Field in front of 4,929 fans.

In a repeat of their season opening match, the Orlando Pride and Washington Spirit drew 1-1, with the Spirit once again taking the lead and almost immediately conceding on the other end. Ashley Hatch scored her third goal of the season from a cross by Kelley O’Hara in the 64th minute, with Taylor Kornieck scoring from outside the box in the 67th after an errant piece of distribution by Aubrey Bledsoe.

An evenly matched game in Orlando ended in the most logical way possible, with the Spirit taking the lead late in the 77th minute via an Ashley Hatch header and conceding the equalizer via Alex Morgan shortly after in the 84th minute with the Spirit and Coach Richie Burke both feeling like it was 2 points lost rather than one point earned.
